Bomb Threat to Schools: Several schools in the national capital received bomb threat calls on Saturday morning. School administrations immediately evacuated students and staff, and police launched a massive search and security check.

List of Schools That Received Threats

Threatened schools include Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya. Police and the bomb disposal squad immediately reached the spot, and all the buildings are being searched. At present, no explosive material has been reported.

School Closed at DPS Dwarka

Citing "unavoidable circumstances," the management of DPS Dwarka decided to close the school today. Consequently, mid-term exams scheduled for Saturday have also been postponed. A circular issued to parents stated that all buses and private vans/cabs are being turned away immediately. Parents have been requested to pick up their children at the bus stop or at the school. Parents of students arriving in private vehicles will also be required to be present to pick up their children from school.

Safety of Students and Staff Ensuring

Police officials stated that all students and staff have been safely evacuated. A large number of police personnel have been deployed at the scene. The bomb disposal squad has thoroughly checked all areas to prevent any untoward incident.

Increasing Pattern of Threats in Delhi

This development comes at a time when educational institutions in the capital are receiving frequent false threats. On September 9, the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) also received bomb threats via email. At that time, the police and bomb squad inspected the campuses and declared them safe.

Police Investigation Continues

Although the threats received so far have been found to be false, Delhi Police has said that every call and email is being taken seriously. Investigations are on to locate and arrest the threats.

The police and school administration are in constant touch, and the students, parents, and staff are being given the latest information. All necessary steps are being taken to ensure security, and an appeal has been made to the public to be vigilant.
